About

I’ve always wanted to practice my Japanese, since I had lived in Japan when I was at a young age. But since high school, all through university, I rarely had a chance to practice my Japanese. Now that I found something that I’m interested in, along with all the necessary sources to assist me, I’ll be making an effort to practice, learn, and translate Japanese light novel.

The one I’m picking up is a Japanese web series called “Konjiki no Wordmaster” post on http://ncode.syosetu.com/n7031bs . It will start out a bit slow but I believe with practice,  the translations will be faster and better. I plan to translate every web chapter.

I’m sorry for my inexperience, but I hope you will all enjoy and comment on the translation, (and probably the website as well) and ways which it could be improved.

Thanks,

Netblazer

  1. Which kind of Japanese characters is the novel written?
One character is a sound, or one character is a idea?
    Thank you very much!

    1. When hiragana or katakana is repeated more than twice or followed by “~” it is usually a sound. There are special single letter cases as well like characters pronounced “O”, “a”, and “nh”

  2. you know ever time I see the status “Reading Chapter ??” it feels like a slap in the face like your saying ” I can read this and you CANT muwhahaha”. however looking forward to your translations 🙂

  6. Hello, I am insigniapierce, I made a blog and translated a chapter for the purpose of thanking all the translators of KnW, I wanted to help on my spare time to show my appreciation to the effort you guys have been putting out. I just wanted to let you know since I was told you are the team leader and I do not want to cause trouble for any of you. As of now, I translate when I can since my Japanese is not perfect and I would like to get better for others sake and myself as well. I only made a blog now, I can only translate what I can and don’t have a clue as to how the blog works or how I can customize it like yours but that is only secondary, I just want to post chapters whenever I can to help. Sorry for the long message. Thank you

  10. Hey, I was wondering if I could also join the project? My Japanese isn’t great since I only started last month, but maybe I could proofread or something

  11. Do you happen to have any openings that needs to be filled? I can do proofreading. Translation/Editor-wise, I am inexperienced and my Japanese is mainly self-taught. I would be a machine assisted translator at best. I can be contacted at my gmail account mwizard73087

  13. Hey there.
I immensely enjoyed the KnW translations, the effort you guys put in as an individual and a team is laudable. Would you guys let me join as an editor for KnW or any other ‘summoning-type’ LN?
I don’t know Japanese but I am rather confident about my English, If I might say so. I hope my request will be considered.
    Cheers.
